Haushelden
Simon, nine years old, shares how much fun he's having with the Haushelden app. "Earning ice cream and getting more playtime," he says excitedly. He describes how he completed four tasks today, from dusting the stairs to vacuuming upstairs. In the past, he had to do these chores without any reward, but now there's ice cream involved—and that really motivates him.
What do you enjoy most about the app?
I think it's cool that I can earn ice cream and get more gaming time. The tasks are actually fun now because I get something for doing them. Before, we did the chores for nothing, and now we get something in return. That makes the tasks themselves much more exciting.
What tasks did you complete today?
Today, I did four tasks. I dusted the stairs and vacuumed upstairs. I can't remember the other tasks exactly because it was already 2 PM, and that feels like ages ago.
How do the rewards work?
In the app, you can check what you've accomplished and then exchange points for rewards. I can get real ice cream for it. When I redeem an ice cream in the app, I can choose which one I want to eat. I think that's really great.
Do your brothers also use the app?
I have two brothers, who are twelve and fourteen years old. The oldest doesn't have the app yet because he's in puberty, and that makes things a bit more complicated. But I think they could try it out too because it's fun.
What would you tell other families about the app?
I would tell other families that the kids should give it a try. It's really fun, and you get cool rewards. Plus, you can choose what rewards you want to have.
We used to do the chores for nothing.
Will you play again tomorrow?
Yes, I think so. I play just because it's fun, and there are always new tasks and rewards that motivate me. Maybe I'll find even more rewards that I want, but I don't know yet.
